All tracks were improvised and recorded live in <a target="_blank" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exeter">Exeter</a> at <a target="_blank" href="http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/21/2134/Bowling_Green/Exeter">The Bowling Green</a>, 21/03/02 (track 1 and end of track 13), <a target="_blank" href="http://www.exeterphoenix.org.uk">The Phoenix</a>, 22/05/02 (end of track 6, track 7, middle of track 12) and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.maths.ex.ac.uk/~mwatkins/imagery/door.jpg">Oblique House</a> (all the rest). They were all recorded via a lo-fi mono headmic onto <a target="_blank" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minidisc">MiniDisc</a>, later subjected to fairly minimal processing and a few dubious splices.
The introduction on track 1 was provided by <a target="_blank" href="http://edibleaudibles.blogspot.com/2006/04/outdoors-busker-on-exeter-high-street.html">Nigel the Busker</a>. Track names (apart from the title track) are, for no particular reason, <a target="_blank" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_moths">common names of species of moths</a> of the British Isles.
This was originally intended as a two-CD compilation, with tracks 1-6 on disc 1, tracks 7-13 on disc 2.
